Richard Oliver - Chair of the Board
Commissioned into
the Royal Engineers he saw regimental service in the Far East,
Germany and Northern Ireland. He commanded the Berlin Infantry
Brigade either side of the fall of The Wall and completed his
career with three senior appointments in personnel and logistics,
retiring in the rank of major general. He is a graduate of the Army
Command & Staff College (1975-76) and the Royal College of
Defence Studies (1991). He was appointed OBE in 1985 and CB in
1999.
In 2000, he was
appointed as Chief Executive of Year Out Group, an association of
leading gap year providing organisations. The same year, he was
appointed as a Cranstoun Trustee and Chairman the following
year.

Hugh Morris - Vice Chair
Hugh was appointed
to Cranstoun's Board as Vice Chairman in 2007, having previously
been Chairman of Odyssey Trust."
He joined Arthur
Andersen & Co. Management Consultants in 1980 and became a
partner in 1991. He held a series of management positions from 1993
including being one of the firm's Global Managing Partners from
1997 - 2000. In 2001, he then moved to QA plc as Operations
Director.
In 2003, he joined
Xchanging and became the CEO of Xchanging HR Services until 2005.
He then became Executive Director, Global Delivery and a member of
the company's management board. Hugh left Xchanging in early 2009
to found Laureate Legal Services, where he is CEO.

Katherine Patel - Honorary Treasurer
Katharine was
appointed to Cranstoun's Board as a Trustee in January 2006,
becoming Honorary Treasurer at that time. As part of her role as
Treasurer, she is also the Chair the Audit Committee.
Katharine Patel is
an ACA qualified accountant and currently a Partner at Buzzacott
LLP.
She has worked with Buzzacott for approximately 15 years, starting
off as a trainee accountant. Throughout that time, Katharine has
worked with charitable organisations ranging from convents to
universities to international development charities. Most of her
time is spent overseeing the audit process for these charities and
providing financially related advice.

Gary Davis
Gary became a
Trustee of Cranstoun as drugs and alcohol have been associated with
his career experience for most of his life. Involved with Media,
Film, Events and the Rock & Roll industry, he has first had
experience of people who have been drawn to drugs and alcohol
culture.
Gary has 30 years
experience in the media sector running businesses at the sharp end
with extensive experience in operations, sales and marketing. Gary
has had full P&L responsibility for businesses in the SME
sector as well as a being a main board director of a fully listed
public company which was grown from a start up.
Coming from a
technical engineering background and has worked with numerous blue
chip clients as well the concert touring and exhibition
sectors.

Esperanza Desouza
Esperanza was appointed to Cranstoun's Board as a Trustee in 1997, with a
previous association with the charity (Cranstoun Projects) as a Trustee for a number of
years.
Esperanza
Desouza trained and worked for many years within education as a
teacher. Following a change in career a
number of years ago, she qualified in Law and is now a serving Barrister. In 2001, Esperanza retired from the Crown Prosecution
Service.

Cees Goos
Cees was appointed to Cranstoun's Board as a Trustee
in Sept 2003.
Cees Goos has
had a distinguished career with the World Health Organisation
(WHO) undertaking work related to
substance abuse, mental health and health in prisons. He
acted for several years as the Director of
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and developed the European Alcohol Action Plan and the
WHO 'Health in Prisons Project'.
Since his
retirement from the European Office of WHO, he lives in Vienna and
is a freelance public health consultant
with assignments of several governments, the WHO, the EC and UNODC.

Wayne Haywood
Wayne wanted to contribute on a more regular/meaningful basis with
an organisation where his recent experiences might be most of use. As Wayne had
gained first hand experience of drugs and alcohol during his time with the Police, in
terms both of preventative programmes run, he joined Cranstoun as a Trustee in
2010.
Wayne Haywood
joined the RAF after graduating from the University of Wales. In
his 24 years of service, he undertook a
variety of posts including Protocol Officer at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe. His last post, in 2007,was as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, Permanent
Joint Headquarters, Middlesex.
In 2006, Wayne
joined Surrey Police as Neighbourhood Policing Manager. In 2007, he became an
interim Director at Mole Valley District Council before leaving to
work as an Interim Project Manager on
Bedfordshire County Council's Transforming Adult Social
Care programme. In 2009, he joined the London
Borough of Haringey as Interim Project Manager.

Faith Jenner
Faith became a Trustee of Cranstoun as she wanted to
be involved with a charity which she
feels connected with. She has hand on experience of alcoholics and,
through her parent's profession
(Pharmacists), has an appreciation of drugs - in the past
Pharmacists dispensed narcotics to drug
addicts.
Faith Jenner
started her HR career in 1971 with Arthur Andersen. In 1998, she
was promoted to UK Director of
Personnel and Recruiting. In 1995,
Faith joined Ernest & Young as Head of Human Resources
London Offices & National Director
of Recruiting and appointed Director of Human Resources & Quality at Northgate Information
Solutions the following year. End of 2000, she was appointed Head of Group Human Resources of Credit
Agricole, Calyon Corporate & Investment Bank (formerly Credit
Lyonnais).
In 2006, Faith
formed her own consultancy providing technical HR support and
advice to business managers and HR
professionals.

Linda Moir
She got to know the
work of Cranstoun during a belated gap year in 2008 when she
volunteered as part of the Positive Futures programme supporting
the development of young people in Roehampton.
Linda Moir is one of
the team at London 2012 planning the spectator experience for
millions of visitors to London and the UK for the summer Olympic
Games. She has worked in a variety of customer service and HR roles
including Virgin Atlantic where she was Customer Service Director
and NATS (Air Traffic Control) where she was HR Director.

Richard Pertwee
After seeing the effect of addiction, he worked as a
volunteer at the CRI-run Tier 2 drop-in centre and needle exchange in Winchester. When
Cranstoun advertised for a new Trustee
from a legal background, Richard just couldn't resist bringing all
the threads together.
Richard
Pertwee is by background a lawyer, who specialised in helping
clients to buy and sell businesses. In
2006 and after hitting the dizzy age of 50, he decided to go part
time and to do more in the voluntary
sector. Richard sits as a Magistrate in Portsmouth and in
the Youth Court in Fareham.

Diana Whitworth
Diana is a Trustee of Cranstoun's Board.
From 2004-2007, she
was co-director of Grandparents Plus, a charity that aims to raise
awareness of the importance of grandparents and the extended family
in the lives of children. Her career has included eight years at
Citizens Advice, ten years at the National Consumer Council and
five years as chief executive of Carers UK.
Diana is a member of
the Council of the Advertising Standards Authority and is a member
of the Big Lottery Fund Board (BIG).
