Ivana - Cranstoun - Skills for Life
Ivana first started experimenting with solvent abuse at the age
of 12 with friends, in an attempt to "fit in" and hide her
sexuality. Her abuse escalated and eventually expelled from school
with no formal qualifications. With low job prospects, a sexuality
crisis and dealing with her parent's divorce, Ivana moved from
solvent abuse to dangerous class A drugs. Life quickly spiralled

Steve - Cranstoun High Care Residential
Services
My name is Steve. Having had a very traumatic event
happen in my life at the age of 12, which carried on until I was
16.I was given drugs and alcohol at this stage and became addicted
to these substances very quickly. I was already suffering from
serious depression and started self-harming at the age of 14.My
life was out of control and my addiction had increased to levels
that were unbelievably high.(...)

John - Cranstoun Residential Services
After undergoing a detox
programme John was referred to Cranstoun High Care Residential
Services. With the welcome he received, and the help of other
residents and staff, he soon settled in. He was allocated a key
worker and developed a care plan. Boundaries were set, which at
first he resented, but over time he developed an understanding as
to their purpose.

Rosemary - Cranstoun Outreach and Treatment
Access Services
Rosemary was a heroin user. She made
contact with one of Cranstoun's Outreach and Treatment Access
Services. Over time she became more confident in trying to build up
a relationship with Cranstoun staff. She admitted using crack
cocaine and the level of her offending had dramatically increased.
She was pregnant and worried about the harm she could cause to her
