Who we areCity Roads

Cranstoun City Roads Crisis Intervention provides a specialist residential service for people in crisis related to their drug use. It is a place of safety for those whose lives are in danger of spiraling out of control and are at risk.

At Cranstoun City Roads people can take the opportunity to make sense of the situation they are in and start making necessary changes that will enable them to take control of their lives. During a stay of up to 21 days, people will undergo an individually assessed detoxification or stabilisation programme.

Who is it for

Cranstoun City Roads is for people whose lives are out of control because of their escalating drug use. Services provided include:

  • 24 hour staffing, with 2 qualified nurses and 2 social care team members per shift.
  • Health assessment and appropriate treatment.
  • Detoxification and / or Stabilisation.
  • Additional support staff during the day.
  • One to one support sessions.
  • A group work programme tailored to help people cope with issues arising during this stage of treatment, including: health education, harm reduction and relapse prevention.
  • Complimentary therapies and relaxation groups.
  • Creative activities to stimulate and help rebuild confidence.
  • Support addressing legal, financial and social difficulties arising from drug use.
  • Crisis helpline.

What we do

Cranstoun City Roads will help people to plan ongoing support for when they leave, which may include community services or residential rehabilitation.

How to refer

To find out more or to make a referral, call the crisis helpline - available 24 hours a day. People can self-refer to Cranstoun City Roads.

  • The call will be answered by trained staff, offering advice and support. They will assess whether admission to Cranstoun City Roads is appropriate by asking about current and past circumstances.
  • Staff will offer advice about where to go if Cranstoun City Roads is not the most suitable service.
  • If Cranstoun City Roads is the most appropriate place, admission will be arranged as soon as possible.
  • Those waiting for admission will need to keep in contact with Cranstoun City Roads regularly to check bed availability.

All aspects of confidentiality will be discussed with you during your contact with us. Ordinarily what you tell us remains confidential to the team. However, there may be times when we have to talk to other agencies, which we will discuss with you first.
