Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of our high performing integrated community drug and alcohol service in the London Borough of Sutton. You will be responsible for leading all of Inspire’s outreach services, including line managing a small team.
The core activities will be leading our criminal justice in-reach services, as well as our initiative to engage hard to reach individuals who attend St Helier hospital A&E department with drug and alcohol misuse needs. You will also co-ordinate and support the team in completing outreach visits to clients in the community, running drop-in clinics at an array of partner agencies, and increasing the local community’s awareness of the services we offer.
You will support the team and personally undertake the task of engaging and re-engaging clients into our services. These will often be hard to reach and clients with complex needs. This will involve assertive outreach and motivational skills, as well as brief intervention and harm minimisation advice as required. The team also undertake initial assessments of clients’ needs, and determine and participate in the delivery of appropriate interventions. As team leader you will also represent Inspire at a number of multi-agency forums and panels throughout the borough.
Experience of working with drug and alcohol misuse and individuals is essential. You will also need to demonstrate experience and/ or related skills in providing assertive outreach services and team leadership. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. You will need to be adept at building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, as well as confident in completing presentations to large and multi-disciplinary audiences. Previous experience or knowledge of working with clients involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.
