Salary: £10 per hour
This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a new initiative to engage members of the local community who are caring and/or are close to someone who has a dual diagnosis. The service offers a range of support including assertive outreach, drop-ins, satellite and peripatetic working.
You will support carers to build resilience and improve their well being through facilitating support groups and delivering relevant themed group sessions.
The groups currently run in Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne; travel to other areas of the county may also be required.
Experience of working with family/carer issues is essential as is a thorough understanding of drug and alcohol misuse and mental health issues. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and with working in partnership.
Above all, you’ll be interested in becoming part of an innovative and proactive service and welcome the opportunity to tackle challenges, look for solutions and ultimately work in a sector that impacts on people’s lives.
Successful applicants will be placed in our pool of Relief Workers and will be contacted by the Team Leader when relief shifts are required. Due to the nature of your role and because you will be engaged on a zero-hours contract, there are no set or standard daily or weekly hours. Therefore this would suit someone looking for flexibility while at the same time being part of a great service.
If you wish to apply, please submit your application form to Human Resources by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
